Walter Ruston (1951-) is a native Oregon artist who creates superb wheel-thrown Raku pottery. He started throwing pots in 1991 and in 2007 opened his Westwood Gallery in Dallas, a year before he made this bowl. The bowl is covered with fine crackle lines on a pale gray color glaze. Six carved oak leaves in various sizes circle around the bowl, copper colored and some touched with silver. The dry charcoal bottom is signed "Walter Ruston 08 Dallas, Oregon", incised in script in the clay. (Read More Below)

Description

The bowl is covered with fine crackle lines on a pale gray color glaze. Six carved oak leaves in various sizes circle around the bowl, copper colored and some touched with silver. The dry charcoal bottom is signed "Walter Ruston 08 Dallas, Oregon", incised in script in the clay.

The piece weighs a bit under one pound, measures almost 4 inches high and 6 inches wide, with a circumference of 20 inches. It's in like-new condition, with no chips, hairlines or other damage. This classic bowl displays beautifully, with the forest theme that reflects Walter Ruston's love of nature.
